Exhibition Tour: Natela Grigalashvili — “Whither Are You Flying, O Cloud??”

The exhibition introduces visitors to a photographic series that explores the isolated cultural island of Fereydan, where everyday life is intertwined with a constant longing for the homeland. This intertwining of past and present ultimately becomes a dialogue across time and space — between the Fereydan described by Lado Aghniashvili a century ago and the Fereydan seen today through the eyes of Natela Grigalashvili.

The exhibition runs until September 24.

Natela Grigalashvili has been working in documentary photography for more than 30 years. The central themes of her photographic series include everyday life in the regions of Georgia, the socio-cultural identity of isolated communities, collective memory, and the changes brought to these environments by modernity.

Grigalashvili primarily works on long-term projects. She spends months and years in the places she photographs, building trust through direct and continuous interaction with local communities. This approach gives her photographs a distinctive sense of closeness and intimacy.
