TBC Concept Gallery presents Anka Gujabidze’s solo exhibition “I stood upon the mountaintop”  held as part of the Kolga Tbilisi Photo 2026 festival.

“I stood upon the mountaintop,

Whole world spread open to my eyes,

As Sun and Moon lay on my breast

I spoke with God.

The grace of world was all

That fed my heart and soul”...

An excerpt from Vazha-Pshavela’s poem “I stood upon the mountaintop”

"There are few things in life I love more than the mountains. The mountains raised me, molded my character, and infused me with the air of freedom. In my childhood, standing atop a mountaintop, I felt as if I were standing at the pulse of the world." I would gaze and be  mesmerized, as the setting sun painted the mountains scattered across the horizon in shades of   red, blue, and purple. There, I felt strong, fulfilled, and breathless. This love follows me still, keeps me alive, and reminds me of those sacred feelings strewn across the mountain slopes.

Taking these photographs revived me once again, it woke me up and filled me with a thirst for life. As I peered through the viewfinder, I was overcome with passion, falling into a hypnotic state, every millimeter of the frame brought me physical pleasure.

These photos capture the landscapes of Kazbegi - landscapes which, I hope, will withstand the violence of human hands and preserve my existence and my emotions into a future as vast and unreachable as the horizon.” — Anka Gujabidze
